New Years is the only holiday that celebrates the passage of time and prepares us for the upcoming year. That is why New Years Resolution are so important.  Because in the final seconds of the year that tick away, we reflect on what we have accomplished and what we did not.

 My take on New Years Resolutions is we cant change what is around us; we can only improve on ourselves.

According to Wikipedia, a New Years Resolutions are  described as a commitment that an individual makes to one or more personal, long lasting goals, projects, or the reforming a habit.

1.     Lose Weight and Get  in Better Physical Shape

Physical activity and positive thoughts help to build physical vitality. With every year of life after age 40, we lose up to half a pound of muscle a year.  So staying in shape and positive thoughts are extremely important resolutions in staying healthy and looking great.

2.     Stick to a Budget

It is said to plan to win, a good defense is the best offense.  You need to develop and stick to a realistic budget as one of your resolutions. You need to build your savings to ensure a peace of mind for those unexpected bills.

 

3.     Debt Reduction

Make a  New Year’s Resolution to stop charging anything and to get stable. While you are in this process, pay for everything with cash. You will use your savings that you are building for the unexpected bills.

 

Keep a spending journal to keep track of all the money that you spend. This includes cash, check, credit cards, and all open accounts. With your budget in place, you will have peace of mind in getting your money to work for you and not the other way around.

7.     Find a Better Job

With the New Year, it is a perfect time to reflect on your workplace. Is this truly how you want to spend your day?

 

In today’s economy, a job can be a hard thing to find.  You need to examine your career path. Do I have a job that matches my core interest, values, beliefs, and skills ?  Is thing where I can see myself in five years?

Helping others  is one of the best Resolutions; because, as you help others it comes back to you. You can mentor or volunteer.  Think of the difference that you can make in someone’s life.

 

 

10.  Get Organized

Being organized is a great way to make the most of your time. Remember time is precious. So this year get organized to spend time doing the things that matter most.
